Our Partners
As part of our mission to provide education, services, and funding to LGBTQ+ causes, RISE has partnered with several agencies and organizations. Some of these organziations have presented at our semi-monthly meetings and/or have been voted on by the club to sponsor and/or to fund. These partners are listed here.
- Burbank Community YMCA Social Impact Center: The Social Impact Center plays an important role in helping all indicvual find their true colors while molding our next generation of change-makers. The Center provides a safe space for youth and families to hang and allow them a space to be themsleves, workshops, 1-on-1s with Youth Adovactes and Social Work Interns, homework help, and more. https://www.burbankymca.org/social-impact-center
- Lavender Effect: The Lavender Effect seeks to increase awareness of the contributions of LGBTQ people to society throughout history, and provide positive role models for LGBTQ youth. They do this through immersive exhibits, cultural programs, interactive media, and research opportunities. The ultimate goal is to create a state-of-the-art LGBTQ museum and cultural center in Los Angeles. https://www.thelavendereffect.org
- NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness): NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. https://nami.org/Home. - Rainbow Labs: Rainbow Labs emboldens Queer and Gender Nonconforming Youth to discover, curate, and experiment with the elements of a fulfilled life through community building and the lived experiences of mentors. https://www.rainbowlabs.org
- SPY (safe place for youth): A safe place to empower young people experiencing homelessness to thrive by providing lasting, community-driven solutions that address racial and social inequity. https://www.safeplaceforyouth.org
